To answer some of your questions: There are a lot of glass artists on Etsy. I have hesitated opening up a store there, mainly because there are so many glass artists there, and some of them just aren't that good, in my opinion. Also, I have been trying to get into art shows and exhibitions, and being on Etsy can mean that a potential art judge might not take your work seriously. There are some great art/craft shows in my area, and I've been lucky enough to be chosen to exhibit at some of the good ones. In fact, I have been invited to apply for a smaller show in Millville NJ, which is quite an honor. I try to design pieces of all price ranges, and I do many functional pieces because I think that it is necessary and good to have usable works of art. And I have been known to severely discount my work when I know that someone truly loves one of my pieces.

Thanks for favoriting my lols! It's rather nice seeing them floating around. Eastern PA where I am is covered with close to 2 feet of snow. It is getting a little warmer, and we are projected to hit 50 at the end of the week. I am not missing the arctic blast that came through in January though! Thankfully I have an awesome down parka, which keeps me quite toasty, which was a necessity when we had our Malamute. And hopefully it will be a necessity again soon, because we are looking into rescuing a Mal if we can find one that can live with cats. (difficult when they were not raised with cats.) Hopefully my husband's business will pick up soon (all indications point to it!) nd we'll be more financially stable & able to rescue a dog. It looks now like I'm going to be working with my husband now that things are picking up, which is a good thing. I have applied to 125 jobs and had only 8 responses - 7 rejections and one spammer. Working in the studio has probably saved my sanity!

Sounds like the job loss may be your blessing in disguise. Trading time sounds perfect. Do glass artists have a site like Etsy? Not that I'm wild about them, but it's a (too expensive for me) venue. Are there art/trade shows where you are? I'm curious (I'm a cat). But feel free to take your time answering. I've had so much fun this afternoon Favving your LOLs. I love so many and you've been on my To Do list forever that I'm glad I finally got started. Now I can graduate your s/n to my "Ongoing" favorites. I hope your weekend was wonderful and that the weather in E.PA is becoming less, er, frozen? Well, I have to stop now but thanks for writing back so soon and have a happy from me. Hugs, xox

Thank you so much!! Glass is my passion, but it's not paying the bills - yet! I'm trying to get some teaching going, and to build up an on-line presence to get sales. I lost my full-time job a few months ago and have been trying to find another (with no luck yet) and have been filling the hours helping my husband with his business and going to the glass studio. I've been very lucky that they need a body in the studio, and have been able to trade studio time for studio maintenance and glass demos.

Your glass creations are amazing! Is this your profession? I wish I had some of your vast creativity. Keep those pictures coming please. xox
