Imgur User Rescues A Gecko And Shares The Progress

Thank goodness for good people! One kind Imgur user has shared with the popular online community the new rescue that came into their care -- a gecko! A gecko named Haru.

The Imgur user, Stereotypicallesbianbarista, saw a photo of this poor reptile who had scars and burns, and very evident tail rot and knew immediately they needed to take the poor thing into their care. Thank you so much, Stereotypicallesbianbarista, for caring about this little reptile and taking action to help heal him and give Haru a proper life. The world could use more people like you.

"Off to the vet. At this point he had blessedly dropped the rotten end of his tail and was making sure no dead tissue remained on the live end. Got a good Bill of health."

"This little boy is a starfish sleeper. He was kept with another male and you can tell how relieved he is to not have to hide and cower. Figured it was just the basic care now."

"Surprise Bish. Haru developed a mass next to his ear. Stopped eating and returned to hiding once more. A trip to the vet and one abscess cleaned and antibiotics added and we were off."

"Look at this chonk now. He's been on a reptile boost syringe diet to help get him in fighting shape. I think It worked. Still hiding a bit but once I move from syringe feeding back to proper bugs he'll be starfish sleeping again. "

"People please do your research before getting any pet. Geckos should never be cohabitated and Haru is lucky he is alive. And when something goes wrong that you may be at fault for swallow your pride and see a vet."
Excellent advice! It should go without saying but people do research prior to any pet you may be interested in taking in.
