Just days after Battlestar Galactica fans had their spirits lifted by the WonderCon debut of the first footage from proposed BSG spinoff Blood and Chrome, SyFy has announced it won't be airing the show, but may consider launching it at as a web series.
Blood and Chrome, which started as a TV proposal back in 2010 and has been discussed as a web series since last year, follows the adventures of a young and rebellious William Adama during the early days of the Battlestar.
"Though the vision for Battlestar Galactica: Blood & Chrome has evolved over the course of the past year, our enthusiasm for this ambitious project has not waned," said SyFy programming chief Mark Stern.
"We are actively pursuing it as was originally intended: a groundbreaking digital series that will launch to audiences beyond the scope of a television screen."
There is some good news, though: Stern promised that the 90-minute pilot for Blood and Chrome would still air on SyFy in the future.
