I have autism and have a lot of trouble with social skills because I always seem to say or do the wrong thing. The other day I was talking to my mentor, a toxicologist whom I look up to greatly, and lamented that I was afraid that I was never going to learn all of what I needed to know to stop looking so weird. She remarked, "Every good scientist is a little weird. And you are going to be a very good one." IMMD!
