Some months ago this young siamese cat showed up in our house as a little kitten. Because my mother has a dislike for cats we never could adopt her. It was hard to feed this cat because she was very afraid of humans. I assume she was very mistreated before she got here, and my mother certainly never helped to change it. Much on the contrary. For dozens of times she tried to force this kitten away from here but the little siamese never left. Although my mother demanded that either I or my brother would pick the cat so she could put it in the car and drive it away, neither him or I agreed and not even tried to get the cat. Instead, unlike my mother, we both as well as my father tried to demonstrate care and respect to gain the cat's trust. Months have gone by and it worked! We are able to feed her now and even pet her without causing her to freak out and run in fear. In fact, she actually asks to be petted by me whenever she sees me. :) This afternoon my dad was in the kitchen when he spotted her joyfully playing in the backyard with a random plastic ring, former part of a bottle seal or something, and called me to see. I wish I could have recorded more of her playing around but the battery of my phone ran flat. ): Thankfully it saved what I had recorded so far! We haven't named this kitty. Maybe never will since we can't actually adopt her because of my mother, but it doesn't change the fact I love her as my pet.
