It looks like Miss Teen South Carolina has a new challenger in the awkward answer department. At the Miss USA pageant last night, Miss Utah Marissa Powell responded to a question about gender inequality in America with a rather strange fumbling answer, proclaiming the need to "create education better." Immediately after the incoherent response was broadcast, #MissUtah soared up to the leading trending topic on Twitter, accompanied by jokes mocking the 21-year-old's intelligence. While amusing, her answer wasn't nearly as disturbing as Miss Alabama Mary-Margaret McCord's defense of the recently leaked NSA PRISM surveillance program, arguing that she would rather have her phone messages tracked than feel unsafe.
