Harmless Sharks to Calm Your Shark Week Nightmares
Maybe you just saw another documentary on Megalodon and it's now in your dreams, consuming half of your house in one gulp. Perhaps, like me, images of goblin sharks prance in your head just as you're about to fall asleep. If you think the only comfort you have is the fact that dying from a shark attack is more rare than getting struck by lightening, well, luckily you are wrong. These sharks are as harmless as the sheep you were counting before they were all eaten by a great white shark.
Neon Sharks, In Case You Needed a Night LightThese sharks seem to glow in the dark as they reflect the blue light they live in deep under water. To the human eye it doesn't look like much but to other sharks they appear to glow neon green.
Tasselled Wobbegong: Ridiculous Name and Oscar the Grouch of SharksThis shark hides on the ocean floor in coral reefs near northern Australia. He may look a little disheveled but how can you not love a shaggy beard like that?
The Whale Shark, a Big Friendly GiantDespite being the largest fish alive, all the whale shark wants to do is eat caviar and get hugs. Just look at that face, he's definitely tolerating that human.
The Basking Shark, Another Shark That Will Be Happy to Just Hang Out and Not Eat YouUnless you're plankton, if you're plankton then a basking shark means trouble. Just.. try to stay human sized and you'll be fine.
Still Scared? Watch This Shark That Likes to Have His Belly RubbedIf this doesn't make you feel better then there is nothing I can do for you.
