Legendary character animator Glen Keane, best known for designing such beloved Disney characters as Ariel, Aladdin, Pocahontas, Beast, and Elliot the Dragon, announced today that he will be leaving Disney Animation after nearly 38 years.
"I am convinced that animation really is the ultimate art form of our time with endless new territories to explore," Keane wrote in a letter to his Disney colleagues. " I can’t resist it’s [sic] siren call to step out and discover them."
Rumor has it he's headed to DreamWorks. When TAG asked him about it two weeks ago, he would only admit to "doing due diligence, looking around, seeing what's out there."
