Delroy Simmonds was on his way to a job interview Tuesday afternoon when a sudden gust of wind altered his plans. The gust knocked a baby onto the elevated tracks and into the path of an oncoming J train. Simmonds sprang into action, hopping on the tracks and lifting the bleeding child to safety. But the 30-year-old father of two isn't seeking praise for his heroic actions, which caused him to miss the interview. He'd rather have a paycheck instead:
"I've been looking for a job for a year and change. I'm looking for something to support my family."
Simmonds was able to reschedule his interview for Wednesday. No word on if he's added "Superman Impersonator" or "Baby Rescuer" to his resume.
