Meet undulatus asperatus, a cloud formation first spotted in Iowa in 2006. The cloud, which looks like the high seas, now has been photographed enough places that it is being considered for the next edition of the International Cloud Atlas.

If the new formation is accepted, it will be the first classification discovered through crowd sourcing -- that is, people snapping pics of the sky and lobbying to have them recognized.
