Members of the British Parliament voted 305 to 287 this week against removing a luxury tax on tampons and women's sanitary items.
Apparently, the government considers feminine products "non-essential, luxury" items.
Outraged women took to Twitter to protest the "tampon tax" and show off just how luxurious their tampons really are.

Just had to decide whether to stick the silver plated or diamond encrusted tampon up my vagina. #luxury

Was going to run a nice bubble bath but then I decided shoving a wad of cotton wool up my vag was much more of an indulgent treat #tampontax
