27 Killed in Connecticut Grade School Shooting

More than two dozen people were killed at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT this morning after a gunman walked into the building and shot his mother, who teaches at the school along with (UPDATED: Dec 16th, 10:00 pm ET) at least 18 students before fatally wounding himself. A total of 26 innocent people--20 children and six adults--and the gunman himself, have been reported and confirmed by the police as the casualties of the shooting, ranking the incident as the second deadliest school shooting in U.S. history. While much of the story remains to be revealed, the gunman has been identified as 24-year-old New Jersey resident Ryan Lanza 20-year-old New Jersey resident Adam Lanza (UPDATED 5:00 pm).
