When the British entertainment company HMV announced 190 layoffs in their netwrok this morning, the executives didn't think it would be accompanied a real time status update on Twitter. Upon receiving the bad news, the now former community manager Poppy Rose apparently took her frustration to HMV's official Twitter account and shared the news by using the hashtag #hmvXFactorFiring, which was shared with more than 61,000 followers and stayed online for at least 20 minutes before the tweets were taken down. Rose later explained the motivation behind the tweets via her personal Twitter account, saying that it stemmed from her frustration at being given sole responsibility of the company's Facebook and Twitter accounts as an unpaid intern.
