While touring in Amsterdam, Justin Bieber made a pit stop at the Anne Frank House this weekend, where he spent over an hour to look around the museum and even signed the guest book with a personal message hoping that Frank would have been a "Belieber" herself. On Saturday, the museum posted a status update highlighting the 19-year-old superstar's guest book message on Facebook (as any other respectable institution of cultural or historical significance would, I suppose), which was met by strongly negative reaction from those who took Bieber's message as being too self-absorbed. But the Anne Frank House apparently didn't think that way; in a statement released later on, spokeswoman Annemarie Bekker praised Bieber's decision to visit the museum and investigate history and hoped that his visit would influence his fans to do the same.
