It appears that Futurama's expiration date has been met for a second time. Comedy Central has announced it will not renew the space cartoon for an 8th season, with the final episode airing on September 4th. In 2007, the cable network relaunched the animated series four years after its initial cancellation, eventually buying two more subsequent seasons. In an interview with EW, creator Matt Groenig revealed that they may be seeking a new home for the series, adding that the most recent episodes were "the best ones we've ever done."
