Over the past month, Freedom of the Press Foundation has been working on a crowdfunding campaign to hire a professional stenographer to provide public transcripts of the trial of Bradley Manning, the U.S. soldier accused of providing an unprecedented volume of classified intelligence to Wikileaks. Thanks to the fundraiser, which was initiated after the government refused to publicly disclose the official transcripts from the trial and has since raised more than $61,000 of its $70,000 goal, the transcripts will be made available each day on Freedom of the Press under an Attribution 3.0 Unported Creative Commons license.
