Exodus International, the "ex-gay" Christian ministry known for its programs that are aimed to "cure" homosexuality, shut down its operations yesterday, followed by an open letter from the group's president Alan Chambers apologizing for the "pain and hurt" they have caused to the LGBT communities. Chambers also announced that a new ministry will be formed out of Exodus, which would seek to "reduce fear" and help churches form "safe, welcoming and mutually transforming communities."
