A couple months ago Redditor NoohjXLVII posted online, thanking Bethesda for Fallout 4, which he said helped keep his mind off a family tragedy.
“I have spent over 500 [hours] in this game,” NoohjXLVII wrote on the Fallout 4 Reddit (via Eurogamer). “Partly due to the fun gameplay, the new survival mode, and just the game in general. My dad passed away last year (age 56)... I didn’t take it well.”
He dealt with the pain through creating a bipedal sentry bot and naming it after his father -- GR-36 (father's name was Greg). Then, this summer NoohjXLVII was struck yet again by another devastating blow: he received a call that his 24-year-old brother was in the ICU. His brother passed away shortly thereafter, and his friends started up a GoFundMe, which details his medical condition.
“Thank you Bethesda for providing me with this wonderful game and distraction for everything I’m going through,” NoohjXLVII wrote.
“The words they use sound exactly like him, however he was also a pretty funny guy, full of puns,” NoohjXLVII wrote online yesterday, giving thanks to Bethesda, and saying he'd forever be in their debt.
“P.S.,” NoohjXLVII added. “Don’t feel guilty about taking his stuff! He insists you take it and in real life he would give you the shirt off of his back to help those in need.”
