The New 3DS has only been out since October in Japan (and November in Australia), but it's already shipped 1.84 million units, bringing the total for the 3DS family of handheld consoles up to 50.41 million units shipped.
1.91 million Wii Us were shipped between October and December of last year, bringing its total up to only 9.2 million units shipped (for context, Microsoft reported 6.6 million units shipped during the last quarter of 2014).
The weak value of the yen is giving a boost to Nintendo's income from overseas, so Nintendo is expecting a profit of 30 billion yen this year (up from a previously forecast 20 billion).
