Wes Craven, horror director best known for his work on the Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream franchises, died Sunday at 76.
Craven passed at his home in Los Angeles after losing his battle with brain cancer, his family said.
Some of Craven's other iconic works include The Hills Have Eyes, The Last House on the Left and My Soul to Take.
Actors who appeared in his many films and others took to Twitter to express their condolences.
