Tristan, a third-grader in Missouri, was selling cups of lemonade for a dollar outside of the Davis’ family yard sale to help raise money for adoption fees. Over the last four years, Donnie and Jimmy Davis have had legal guardianship of Tristan Jacobson but have been unable to come up with enough money to afford the fees.
In the end, the total from the lemonade and yard sale surpassed their initial $5,000 goal, as the family together raised $7,100 to pay for Tristan's adoption. A crowdfunding campaign was also set up that gained $6,900. The additional money will go towards Triston's college education.
