I was looking forward to seeing him on his road trip, too. I don't know how many times we talked about RVs and Oregon. =) Love your scenario for Dave, up there with Becky and his dad and brother! You have a happy new year as well, my friend!

I was looking forward to seeing him on his road trip. He was only 4 months older than me, so I never imagined it not happening. Plus he was always so positive about recovery. I can see where he needed to be even if things weren’t going as well. I’m sure he, Becky, and his dad and brother are all tossing balls and watching the niners from above. Please have a happy new year and we will hope that 2020 brings good things to all our friends and family.

Thanks for the obit. I'll miss him a lot, too. We corresponded a lot - I'm sure you and Dave did as well. I wish I could have met him (and Becky) in person.

I was shocked as well, tho I'd had a bad feeling about it when I hadn't heard from him for over a month. I'll miss him so much. I feel sorry for his mom, too - first her husband and now Dave. <sigh>

I was shocked by the news about BD. Our last email was at Thanksgiving. Hoping you and hubby and Elf are all well.

I'd say you've got the add-a-cat situation down well. The one thing Elf isn't is a lap cat. I don't know why that is - probably some hangover from his former life - but the best I can get him to do is lie down with his front paws only on my lap, and that never lasts long. Other than that he's as sweet as he can be and loves to give head bonks, so it all works out. I'll be sure to root for the Eagles tomorrow. =)

No cuddle piles, some paw slaps when things ate pushed, but, no major battles. Max is a lap kitten for some of the day.

That would have been my guess as to why Cupid started hissing - Max being up above him like that. Seems to me you know plenty about cats, or at least as much as us silly hoomans can know. =) Good luck with the feeding thing!

We got an hour of social time - -no nose-to-nose and Max had a puffy tail any time the big boys came up. Had to isolate again when Cupid had enough and hissed and growled when Max got on the table above him. I think that was part of it - Cupid didn't know what he was gonna do and now Max could drop on him --- but what do i know about cats?? Anyway - still gotta figure out how do to kitten vs adult feedings when all are in the same world. For the moment Max will be in his room at night at least and I'll hide his food from the 'chunky'Derby boy when he's roaming. Not as worried for Max having a bit of grown-up food but Derby does NOT need kitten calories. Have a great weekend.

Maxwell's a beauty! "Broke your name" - LOL! I love Tuxies - had one once and she was a mellow girl, lived to be 20. I hope you get all three used to each other real soon. =)

We had a bit of a break the last couple of days on the heat issue - was really pleasant for an early morning walk ( not as early as Dave though -- i don't do no 5 ams). Rain hititng now - hoping you avoid those funnels out your way. I'm hearing there are some running around the midwest . Derby is napping under towels and blankets -- not sure why - it's in the mid 70s with the AC on today. Cupid is under the bed. They will both wake up as I'm crashing this evening. They do join me first thing in th morning -but that's probably cuase the noms bowl is empty not cause they missed me during the night. My second niece is off to Australia for her first college semester. Why didn't they have that when I went to school? not sure i'd have been brave enough to do it though. Anyway - stay cool and toss Elf a crinkle ball or two for me. **hugs**

Heya Kris! Nice to hear from ya! Yep, it's another typical summer here in the south. You'd think I would have gotten used to it by now but I still wish I could spend my summers back in Colorado. As it is, I just hunker down at home as much as possible and pray our aging A/C holds out another year. =) We haven't had it as bad as a lot of folks tho, so I'm glad for that. The fires around the country are a nightmare again this year. Elf is sleeping his way through the summer as usual, especially now that he's getting older. He mainly roams around the house at night looking for any stray bugs that have wandered in. Fine with me! How are your fur babies doing? Perfect little angels, I'm sure. LOL

Nice that you had your cell with you and caught the perfect moment. I never seem to get that lucky. My hubs calls Elf 'Lumpy' half the time. He's never lived with a cat before and finds that things like Elf sleeping under a blanket somewhere or mesmerized by a bug for an hour are just SO funny. Yeah, Chuck, cats have personalities! Imagine that! Oh, and believe me, Elf's not getting anywhere near my feathers! =)

Derby can be a very silly boy sometimes. I walked in and saw the 'lump' and when i said 'Where's Derby?' out popped that head. Fortunately I had my cell in my hand and could catch him in the act. Hopefully Elf has forgiven you for abandoning him to Dad for the week. Just don't show him your feathers or they will be goners. Take care and stay warm.

Thanks, Kris! With my knee all healed up I'm feeling a whole lot better about my birthday than I did last year when I was hobbling around. At least I do as long as I don't think about my age too much. =) Love the profile pic! "You woke me up for a picture?!! How rude!" LOL!

Yep, the knee is doing great. I have to see the surgeon in a couple of weeks but we won't have much to talk about. It's cold here too but at least we'll be warming up in a day or two. We actually got snow last night - almost a whole inch! Naturally the entire city and all the schools are closed. It's pretty amazing how little it takes to shut things down around here!

Oh, yup. Gonna need the tums. Loved the underdog masks though. Nick isn't Carson and that just made everything a big question. Hope you are healing up. I should be doing yardwork, but it's too cold. Maybe it won't snow tomorrow. Derby Pie is having a grooming session next to me. No clue what Cupid is up to.

Hi 2k! Yeah, been having a rough go of it lately but I just have to keep telling myself it's only been one month and things WILL get better! Elf is doing his best, sticking by my side. Of course, he has his own hidden motives, but I still appreciate the company. =) I saw this weekend that Penn State is ranked #4! Way to go!!
