Well, every place has its pros and cons, right. I never suffered any violence here, although I know Brazil has a lot to do to become a peaceful country. Each country faces its own threats, for example, we don't have any problems with terrorists at least. It seems we have a good relationship worldwide :)

I'm not sure exactly where abouts in Brazil that Andreia's from. She's said how much she enjoys the weather, people, festivity, but hated the crime, getting held up at gunpoint at her home's gates one time, she just really likes the safety and prosperity of Canada, but loves the Brazilian culture. She's raised her children to speak Portugeuse as well, and they attend a French school - the best of both worlds!

That's really nice of her, we should not ignore our origins, right? From which city/state is she from? I like to learn cultural differences too, not only because of my job, but I really find it interesting. I've been to Canada in 2008 with a group from university. We visited Toronto and Québec, and I must say it: that was perfect :) What a lovely place and people!

Yeah, my coworker often fills me in on the differences between our countries. She says that she couldn't imagine going back to live in Brazil because of how much she loves Canada and how great her life is here, but she's still very proud of her heritage and always introduces herself as Brazillian, not Canadian.

Yeah it's really hot here... and I believe when you say that the beauty of the snow wears off ^^ It must be really annoying to clean the snow in front of the houses, on the cars etc.

One of my coworkers is from Brazil, she says her relatives are complaining about the intense heat there right now. Here, this morning, it was -30C and the snow stopped all traffic on the weekend, so the majesty and beauty really wears off fast lol! I posted a pic with the caption "oh Canada. Tsk Tsk." that's actually a pic from right in front of my work.

Everything is fine in Brazil, hot and rainy, which is usual this period of the year. Here in my region it never snows, I'd love to see that. Don't you like it?
