Hey Bill - looks like your email A/C has been hijacked again...

By beernbiccies on Feb 24, 2013 at 12:32 PM

Hi Bill. I received several strange emails from your old email addy last year and assumed your account had been hacked. Just received another today that I shan't open - it has no title... If you want to get back in touch put a message on ichc or email from another A/c... Cheers. David

Well pop back more often! We miss you! Last I heard you were storming the literary world of Paris with poetry (was it) and working on a second book. You can't get away with just a quick hello. Summer Nights may be over but tell me more, tell me more anyway! In Oz we are still poddling along our own little track. We just got digital TV in our neck of the woods, and are being progressively dissappointed with it as we discover that all the shiny new channels are mostly repeating very old stuff or mirroring the frontline channels... And C has kept out of hospital for several months now and is not too bad, tho needs a wheelchair a lot for any serious movement around the property. So there. Keep smiling. Cheers. David

Thanks for the Independence Day message, David. How "current" am I lol? Just a Wohello and a fond thoughts message! Apologies for falling down other online rabbit holes and into other Wonderlands. I only know one other site that's as nice as this one (Flickr) and none that's better. Because of people like you! Just popping in and out like a schmuck. :-)

Hey Bill - How u doing? We're pretty much the same tho C just had a bad asthma attack that needed hospitalisation to fix, but she OK again now. You on for long this time?

By beernbiccies on Apr 19, 2012 at 6:34 PM

Lol - thanks - the better 3/4 says hello and sends her love and hugs!

By WilliamKeckler on Apr 19, 2012 at 4:58 PM

Thanks for the encouraging words. You're such a good friend to so many people on here, David. And your Better Half of course is too! Or maybe I should say Better Three-Quarters?? (joking!!! don't throw something at me!)

So you're back in the real world with a vengeance! That's a difficult thing you're attempting, switching genres - most writers stick with what they're good at or comfortable with. Some have to more or less switch personality in the process, like Ian Banks (or Ian M Banks when he writes sf!). But you should be at home in the French setting - French literature and art is your home-from-home, as I recall... Anyway, be well and above all enjoy yourself!

Thanks David! I'm back to writing more and publishing more and doing more visual art. The magazine game keeps me busy. I have some visual art coming out in a Paris mag (next issue) called Her Royal Majesty, a journal and "scene" I admire quite a bit. I've only just begun placing visual art in print media (as in actual paper mags). I'm working on an ambitious project (sci fi-ish novel) right now that is kicking my ass. But I'm hoping to turn the tables and fight back against the darn book soon. Great way to have language put you in your place: attempt a genre you've never attempted before. Genre writers are underrated. I have a new respect for them lol. Hope the Cheez gods are recognizing your wit with beaucoup fps.

Hi Bill. I see your surrealist goggie hit the History fp at last - congrats! How ya going? We are cruising fairly well in Oz at the moment...

By beernbiccies on Apr 3, 2012 at 1:25 PM

And a pundit fp too - they still keep rollin' in!

By beernbiccies on Apr 2, 2012 at 2:21 PM

Mornin' Bill - congrats on the new Razzi fp - Life's a beach all right!

By beernbiccies on Mar 30, 2012 at 2:07 PM

Congrats on the new history fp - nice one Bill. I remember that one lol!

By beernbiccies on Mar 23, 2012 at 10:41 PM

PS: I think the notification system for fps has gone by the board... The only one I've received recently was for one of mine that made it to the ichc fp - a rare occurrence indeed! For all the other boards you can forget it!

Hi Bill Ya it's very much suck it and see around here at the moment! You might be amused at the email I just sent to the generic agony-aunt email addy they use to hose down the complainants... Impress me by actually reading this email. ICHC made 2 basic mistakes with this 'Beta' system. Firstly you never told members what you were trying to achieve with it, and secondly you never asked anyone to comment on the proposed changes BEFORE implementing them. It's too late now to tell people that the system is 'under review'. You have attracted a storm of criticism and bad feeling that can't be good for the site and has already lost you some of your best lolers. What are you trying to achieve??? The less you tell people the more they suspect ulterior motives and conspiracies with (ptui) Facebook. You should also be setting a goal for completion of any changes... and TELLING people about it. Don't believe programmers who tell you that people will 'whinge whatever we do'. If you had told us what was going on in advance you might still have attracted some adverse criticism, but not nearly as much, and the criticism would have been more focused and thus more use to you in whatever redesign you are aiming for. It is still not too late to put out a document saying what you are doing and why, and setting a time for completion. Remember, it is we, the lolers, who ultimately attract the site's advertising dollar! I know what I'm talking about - I used to be a senior management consultant for the (Australian) Federal Government. I'm not holding my breath for any reply tho lol!

Oh I found it. I thought that Cheezburger icon was only to add to a Cheezburger blog. I didn't see the drop-down at first. At least it's still one step to favorite on the dashboard.

By WilliamKeckler on Mar 23, 2012 at 8:42 PM

I haven't been on. I know how regularly you fp so apologies for those I missed! I don't even know how to favorite things now on here with the changes. I went to favorite one of yours and I had no clue what to push. I didn't want to use Facebook.

By WilliamKeckler on Mar 23, 2012 at 8:39 PM

Thanks David! I didn't know as I seem not to have gotten any notification. I guess things are still "in transition" around here?

By beernbiccies on Mar 23, 2012 at 2:08 PM

Congrats on the new History fp - that one was a moral to make it!

By beernbiccies on Mar 20, 2012 at 10:34 PM

Congrats on the new kitteh fp - poor little fellow!

By beernbiccies on Mar 18, 2012 at 6:47 PM

Oops - I meant Desktop not screensaver.

By beernbiccies on Mar 18, 2012 at 6:41 PM

Lol - you need a new screensaver mate! I got fed up with the usual succession of bikini-clad beauties on mine so now I use my latest fp as screensaver till another comes along.

By WilliamKeckler on Mar 18, 2012 at 11:35 AM

I know, right? It's just the perfect encouragement to never leave the house. When I get up from my computer, my shadow lingers on the screen.

By beernbiccies on Mar 16, 2012 at 8:33 PM

That IS depressing! All the more reason to stay home nites with a warm computer!

By beernbiccies on Mar 16, 2012 at 8:30 PM

Wow - what an exciting and eventful literary life u lead! You need help torturing your novel you just ask, boy!
