We lots of squirrels around here. Good luck catching one; they even outrun the cats! Occasionally get little possums; they're actually kinda cute. The only gross critters are the huge Bufo toads. Poisonous and disgusting! Not the season for them now, thank goodness. Critters are attracted by the cat food the neighborhood Cat Ladies leave out. ;3

Tennyson's "Idylls of the King" and the Arthurian legends had me practically walking into walls! First time I read "The Lady of Shallot," it reduced me to tears! Change of genre: have you read much sci-fi? I grew up reading Heinlein, Bradbury, & Clarke. Discovered Harlan Ellison in college. Highly recommend his earlier short stories! Oh, almost forgot - Thank you for the Panda! Do you need anything? ;3

Ugh. Remember the required classes all too well. Definitely a cure for insomnia! Poetry is kind of a rough place to start; my first class as a Lit major was Chaucer at 8:00 a.m.! So not a morning person, but transfers registered last. Agree not much time for personal reading, but everyone has their "bedtime book." My first one was Stephen King's "Carrie." "Water for Elephants" is an excellent choice; I loved it. Movie wasn't bad, but the book was far superior. Is there a particular genre that rings your chimes? ;3

Everybody's grammar sucks outside of school, so don't worry about it. I spent most of my 20's in college and loved it! Started out at the local JC majoring in theater, with a technical minor in speech. Yep, I'm a stage rat at heart! Changed my major to English after our Oral Interp group performed T.S. Eliot's "The Wasteland" at a competition at the Univ. of South Florida in Tampa. Fell in love with the school. At the time it was a small liberal arts school with no Greek houses and no football team. Transferred in 1970, got the BA in '72. Thought I was going to get married, didn't, thank god! Decided to go to grad school, but got sidetracked. Spent a little over a year in a work-study program in social work. Worked on a crisis hotline. Wasn't for me. Ended up getting MA in English Lit at USF. Also got an ulcer & pneumonia, probably from eating crap not getting enough sleep, and from that big bad, stress! Moved back home & got certification & BS in Secondary Education from FIU. My husband was a lot more focussed. Did his undergrad at Cornell, masters and doctorate at Univ. of Illinois. Taught at NYU, but didn't like research. Wrote textbooks full time & did theater (!) as a hobby. Eventually found his niche at the high school. We met during a production of "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum." OMG, didn't mean to run on like this! Will be briefer in the future, unless you ask me about our daughter!LOL You know us English majors, we love the details! What classes are you taking now? What are you reading? ;3

My husband teaches AP Psychology and I teach English. BTW, NOT a grammar troll! I'm a substitute at the high school where husband teaches. Can't find anything full or even part time, but at least it's a school! Left for three years to work in finance. Should have left after two, but the money was good, so I stayed. Finally bailed while I still had some stomach lining left! What college do you go to? What do you want to do when you get out? ;3

Thanks so much for the LOLonardo! Will forward anything I see you need. Nephews sound like fun! We tease our daughter that she ought to stick with kittehs; easier to toilet train and you don't' have to send them to college! Seriously, husbands tend to show up when you least expect them, just like kids & kittehs. Didn't get married till I was 33, had kid at 35. RB & I were the "senior citizens" of La Maze class. Of course, that was back in 1985. You have the luxury of time. Have you decided where you're moving? Are you working? What do you do? ;3

Hi! We've got two spoiled rotten kittehs, a big tuxedo named Willow and a sleek black cat named Merlyn, both rescues. Love the gecko's name Sneakers! We have tons of lizards around here in every size, from tiny little geckos to what looks like escapees from Jurassic Park! The smaller ones get in the house, so I've been head of the Lizard Rescue Squad for quite a few years. Even caught one when I was nine mths pregnant and those little critters can MOVE! I'd love more kittehs, but our girls are older, 12 1/2, and very demanding. We'll probably add to the family in another two years. Have been married to RB (husband) for 28 years & have a daughter who turned 26 this summer. Without my permission! Any spouse or kids?
