Please check out these firms if you have not already. 1) Vitacost.com - They advertise lowest online prices on more than a dozen categories of merchandise, including pet supplies. They sell Advantage flea treatments, supplements and a wide variety of pet foods - this came in handy for me at a time when I was feeding special-needs cats. You do not have to register there to get their low prices, or free shipping with every order over $50, but if you do register, you will always be offered extra discounts. To bring the cost of an order down even further, fill your shopping cart and let it sit for a day; you'll probably get an email offering an additional discount just to go ahead and finish ordering if you're registered. Vitacost.com is a participating store in Ebates, so you get a 4% cash-back from Ebates if you have signed on to that program. 2)Purina - Last time I checked, Purina offers loyalty rewards for both cat and dog supplies. You can help feed your pets with rewards from their weight circles program. Register on mypetperks, and you can earn coupons and other things by participating in simple little activities on their website. 3)Kmart - Kmart regularly undercuts PetSmart's prices on a number of name-brand pet foods. Kmart's rewards program gives you points on purchases, and they give you dollars-off-purchase coupons at the cash register when you buy in-store. You can avoid making a trip to the store and finding some items low on stock or out of stock by going online, putting quantities of what you'll need in your shopping cart and picking up your purchase (Kmart offers a choice of free store pickup instead of shipping). Kmart also is an Ebates store, so you can earn money from Ebates while racking up points at Kmart. 4)Grocery stores - sometimes you can find a break on pet supplies there. I have found that some name-brand cat litters are more dusty and unpleasant to use than most store-brand cat litters. Right now, Arm and Hammer litter has been on sale for months in my area because people don't like the dust, price or smell, and I get store-brand litter for half of what the name brand costs. Sometimes stores have month-long discount prices on pet food; two dollars per bag does not sound like a big discount, but multiply that by ten and it's better than getting one bag free. Also look for organ meat by the pound.
