Ohai, dlemons! Yesh, aifinkso Ai ment the Tropical Bird House ... since my grandpa got most of the birds he smuggled in Mexico! He and a doctor friend of his once spent quite a load of money [now, this is part of my family mythology, so the veracity isn't exactly provable ... and Grandpa died almost 30 years ago ... so, again, LARGE grain of salt!] on buying something their "connection" told them was a Mexican Painted Parakeet. Then, before they got to Houston, they got rained on ... and sure enough, that parakeet WAS PAINTED!! When all the color washed off, they realized they had been sold a plain ol' ordinary parakeet ... *Sigh* But Grandpa and his friend made many trips to stock the bird house, so I'm pretty sure they got some REAL exotic specimens as well. Ha!

Ohai frogprof! Thanks for eggseptin mai freen chip! All my sets are completed but thanks for checking up on them...you're so thoughtful! Do you mean the Tropical Bird House? That was about my favorite place to hang out with some bio facts, especially in the summer (it was air conditioned!!) I also loved the snow leopard exhibit.

Ohai, dlemons! Pleezd tah meecha! I am a Native Houstonian, whose grandfather pretty much stocked the Bird House at the Houston Zoo back in its infancy ... mostly with SMUGGLED birds! Sounds like you are definitely on the right site since you seem to like all sorts of animules ... I'm definitely a Crazy Cat Lady [live in an apt., no yard, so no dog]. I'll look through my Extra Collectiblols and see what you don't have!
