Imagine a banjo and a Suthern Twang... Lumberton, Texas.... Look on a map and find Houston (on Interstate 10). Follow I-10 to the right (towards Louisiana....) to Beaumont, then look up. We're about 10 miles North of Beaumont. Two hours from Houston, 1 hour from the beach, 1 hour from the casino boats in Louisiana. All the Vice you could ever want, within a 2 inch radius! I think growing up here is what made me so anal about ENGLISH! I was an English NERD (BIG TIME) in High School and on! You can reply to all my stuff later - I know it's nappy time at ur house. And some of the guys learned to like me (maybe almost - I was very very mean to them - MY JOB BI-OTCH!!!!) and they taught me some street slang and prison slang! Look at me now Mommy! Aren't you proud? I looked so white bread when I was throwing slang! I had all my friends LtheirAO! Like I said... it's a shame wer can't hang out IRL. T

When I started, my friend (the psychoterapist who ran the groups - state mandated for all sex offenders) warned me, "Try to ignore the poor grammar, pronunciation, etc. if you can.... If u have 2 leave I'll understand." And OMG!!! She was so right! I've never been so insensitive (or rude) to correct people in polite conversation, etc. but all my friends know I have a problem with it. I would be patient and serious, then after all the S.O.'s were gone, we'd bust a gut laughing our asses off at the shit they'd said or how they had pronounced (or fucked up) a word! OMG it was a rare treat! Four times a week, for an hour and a half at a time.....

U r SO Fuckin Funny!!! I wish we lived closer to one another - we'd be one hell of a pair IRL! As for MY English... I was so hung up on diction, grammar, and pronunciation that it nearly KILD ME DED, IT DID!!! I was working as an empathy educator with 4 groups of convicted sex offenders and, of course, they spoke mostly in the languages of which you speak..... Southern hick, southern Ebonics, Street slang, AND PRISON SLANG - which you DID NOT MENTION!!!

I LOVE that making LOLs is fucking up ur English when u talk and stuff! That's FUNNEH! It's starting to affect my writing skills too (not to mention SPELLING!) It's hard to believe that u r an English teacher but that u do so well at this! U must b an over-achiever! I was an English geek in school, wanted to major in it at college until I found out that all I could do with the degree is teach! Good to be back! Missed You! T
