ROFL! Cookie was smaller than a tennins ball in his photo, and as he grew, the marking lost its pengwinness. But for the few days it lasted, I was endlessly amoozed! He and Tootsie both grew into big, healthy, happy boys -- and two of my prettiest ever. Wanna gigglol? Tootsie got his name because my mentor had told me about this little ham-girl that she found stuck in a tank. Tootsie was little and cream and white and very delicate and gentle, and she'd just gotten in her mind he was a girl. She genuinely had no reason to check, as she just rushed him to her vets and had to leave him for surgery and post-op care. She'd been careful not to handle him beyond getting him safe. So I named him for Dustin Hoffman's character!

Awww! I just perused your Epic Squee collection -- I'm about to start gleaning the ones I've missed, but I had to thank you for including Tootsie and Mochi! Tootsie (http://cheezburger.com/6246202880) was one of my first batch of rescued Syrians. He'd been found by one of my mentors in a pet-shop tank, ill-looking. She found his leg was caught in the sliding mechanism, and he'd been in awful pain, and unable to get to food or water. The leg had to be amputated at the hip, and after the vet cleared him, she brought him here. He was beautiful and intrepid, and we found ways for him to do everything a four-legger could do. I love that photo, because of the little stars all around him sleeping there. He was in a plastic container napping while I cleaned his cage, and the camera flash on the plastic is what made those wonderful little "stars." Thank you for including Tootsie in your collection!
