Well, it *is* slang, and that isn't legal in Scrabble.

'Zonked'? Oh, um...here is the definition: zonked: [zongkt, zawngkt] adjective Slang . 1. stupefied by or as if by alcohol or drugs; high. 2. exhausted or asleep. ... For me it was sleep.

By katweezel on Jul 27, 2012 at 1:07 AM

Sorry, friend, I was reading your mail as it whisked past and the word 'zonked' appeared. I looked it up but it's not in my dictionary. Are you making words up? If not, er, what exactly does it mean? LOL

AH! Now, you see, I have never seen The Big Lebowski. You had put it on a few lols, so I didn't make the connection to any particular movie or thing... It just sounded like a rant about a sports team... I stand corrected, it didn't even cross my mind that it might be "The Eagles" (a la Joe Walsh, Don Henley, et al)...and in that case, I agree... mostly... I am not a huge fan of them myself... Henley and Walsh during Solo: YES, in The Eagles: not really, the crossed completely into 'country' of late, really they were only one 'sound man' away from it in the first place, but now... pfft! Total country, yuck.

By katweezel on Nov 5, 2011 at 6:49 PM

Thanx for the Eagles logo sports history. But my lols mentioning the Eagles had nothing to do with sport. It referred to a Jeff Bridges/John Goodman movie called The Big Lebowski. In that, Bridges says how much he "hates the Eagles" (the band); so I guess only a Lebowski fan would get the joke. (There happens to be some L fans around here!) Incidentally, there is a big cult-fan club of this movie and each year in a different US city, they have a fun meet. So there, yur Philly Eagles are safe! LOL

Now, EMU used to be "The Hurons" to which the local chief agreed, with a minor adjustment to the logo, but the administration snuck through the change to "The Eagles" during the summer term when student attendance at low tide... bastards!!! "GO HURONS!!!"- sorry. ANYWAY! Up to that point, we didn't actually have a guy that was dressed as a Huron for a mascot, we had a dork in an EMU costume... of the flightless bird variety...which was 'retired' during the switch to "The Eagles" for a new and shiny dork in an "Eagle" costume.

By hmph on Nov 5, 2011 at 5:11 PM

EMU... Eastern Michigan University... sorry for the confusion... on the other hand... we did have a 'cheer' that went "Go! EMU! GO GO! EMU EMU!" (pronounced 'eemoo' $:D ) the mascot there (and at all the other universities I listed) is the "Eagles"... it is *the most common* sports mascot, in America anyway, so your 'I hate the Eagles' tag lines? Not nearly specific enough.

By katweezel on Nov 5, 2011 at 4:56 PM

Please do. Down here, an EMU is a large flightless bird...

By hmph on Nov 5, 2011 at 4:39 PM

So... not a big fan of EMU? North Carolina Central University Oral Roberts University University of Alabama of SUNY Brockport University of North Texas Bridgewater College Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Georgia Southern University Marquette University...Shall I go on?

Ah. I see. Unfortunately, I didn't know that about you (or maybe I did and forgot... that is entirely possible) and out of that context it looks like a statement to justify someone's horrible grammar to the world and implying that it is the new right way to write. I think it needs context or someone is going to believe it.

By katweezel on Oct 8, 2011 at 7:14 PM

That grammar one was ironic and sarcastic. If you see it again, it may make more sense, from a different perspective. (Sometimes, if I see a sign "apple's for sale", I tell em there's no ' there. They look at me like I'm from Mars.) Maybe I am... LOL

By katweezel on Oct 8, 2011 at 6:50 PM

Oh, that one. For a minute I thort I'd committed a sin... lol

By hmph on Oct 8, 2011 at 5:23 PM

I am afraid I don't agree with your grammar destroying lol... sigh...

By katweezel on Oct 8, 2011 at 4:40 PM

Ok. No, I guess... hmph.
