You're right - it is a bit too close for comfort. *YOU* NEED TO REPORT IT. Seriously. Tofu and Cheez are taking this issue to heart and they need to hear from you. It needs to be more than just me emailing them about these - they're supernice folks so don't be afraid to approach them with this; they really do care. And all you "eavesdroppers" can do the same!! So pull up the LOL and click that blue print to the left of the screen - it's the strongest weapon we have in this fight. (Thanks for letting me know about this.)

I do agree, I would hate to see this snowball. I'll simply have to hope that it doesn't. Thus far we have done well at policing ourselves. I've seen a couple of minor offenders get called on it and *poof* the offending LOLs were deleted. I hope we can continue in that fashion. As for other sites...it's hard to say. For my own part I am concerned only with ICHC/IHAH.

I have wondered about that myself - I share that fear. I know there have been some deliberate copies made by more than just my target, but he has my concentration right now. And like you, I believe that captions will take on a life of their own and evolve - but that is not what he is doing. He is deliberately and, now with malice, flat-out copying, and even a kindergartner knows that nice people don't do that. Did you ever read the reply he sent to me? It's buried in my msgs, but he essentially said he can do whatever he wants and no one can touch him. I'm hoping this won't balloon, but I'm not willing to back down, not until the situation is set right. Are we even sort of on the same page?

I have to wonder how many are blatant copies and how many are by newer cheezpeeps that just don't realize that we're getting to the point where it's pretty much all been done before... Although a lot of times it's pretty obvious that a capshunsnatch has been perpetrated. Given the nature of the site, about all we can do is complain loudly to the snatcher and alert the snatchee. It's starting to feel like work!
