Hi Meggy, it's Mouse here. I'm thinking about getting back on board as things seem to have returned closer to how they used to be. At least I am seeing more of the 'old' crowd these days and the LOLs are back to the funny and clever rather than the pre-adolescent nonsense - well mostly! You still haven't lost the sharp edge I see! Great stuff, as usual. Cheers! Alison

Thank you! I made the mistake of celebrating last night (my boyfriend's birthday), so today will be a subdued affair.

I've only ever seen khat once, but that's what it looked like.

By mouse290 on Jun 22, 2009 at 12:39 AM

Hello Meggypeggy, You've done it again girl! Your Khat LOL took me back to my days in our Quarantine department, helping with processing permits for the importation of khat. Wish I had had this LOL at the time. Cheers!

That's very kind of you. Thank you :)

I've never been to a championship, but I've seen T&D's shows twice, once in London and once when they came to Norwich, in the 90's. I can't skate myself. I'm looking forward to the Gala tonight. Thankfully, that's on a bit earlier.

Aha! Another of my favourite pastimes is watching the Ice Skating Ch'ships but we never get them in peak viewing time nor are they very current. I have been a fan for many, many years and was lucky enough to see Torvill & Dean when they toured Aust during the 80s. Have you ever been to the Ch'ships when they are in the UK? Do you skate yourself? My medical situation is up and down; I have sarcoidosis with a few other complications. My doctor thinks I may need supplemental oxygen when I fly up to visit my sister in Mooloolaba next month. Just what I need!! I am not terribly well informed on the Rock scene these days but I used to be many years ago. I just find the classical and opera genre fulfil me completely such that I tend not to stray away from them much at all these days. Which isn't to say that my music is better than yours! All music is food for the soul. Stay happy! Alison.

I like a lot of classical music - my parents listened to it all the time - but I'm more of a Rock fan myself. I find I recognise the melody, but have no idea what it's called or who wrote it. Apart from G&S, of course. My Dad was a particular fan of theirs and even had the librettos. I used to sing along. My abiding passion is Figure Skating. It's the World Championships at the moment so I've been staying up to watch in the small hours, and sleeping in the mornings. It's worth it. I hope things aren't too bad with your medical condition (no idea what it is). The countryside round here is flat and mainly arable farming, so definitely patchworky!

Ditto the apology - been busy with medical appointments and follow ups recently and now shopping for all the prescribed equipment. Thank heavens for great support from St. Vincent's Hospital here in Melbourne! Love the meerkat kebab!! All my nephews have an insane fascination with meerkats and I'm not sure if they would laugh or be offended by this one! They would keep them as pets if they could. Our nights are getting much cooler now and the autumn colours are beginning to appear in the claret ash trees in Romsey, where I used to live until a couple of years ago. What's the countryside like around your town of Norwich? The UK looks so green and patchworky (if there is such a word) on Google Earth. I spend far too much time daydreaming my way around the world on the computer, vicarious travel is all I can afford these days. What else interests you apart from cats? Dare I hope that you are a music aficionado with your G&S "list" reference?

Sorry to take so long to get back to you. Glad you liked the G & S. How are things where you are?

By mouse290 on Mar 13, 2009 at 5:42 AM

Loooove the G&S! Mum and I sing this every time we prepare our shopping list!

That's very kind of you. Thank you.

G'day Meggypeggy! Thanks for being a friend. You have some of the best LOLs I've seen on this site, I really enjoy your sense of humour. About 8 of them went straight into my hard drive collection for sharing with my sister in Queensland via CD (she's not on the net). Keep up the great work!!
