Remember those misidentified animal lolz we both made some years ago? I found them all (I think) and made them into a site: http://misidentifiedanimals.cheezburger.com/

Powered back up again. I think tornadoes are the scariest weather event cuz there is so little warning and they are so freakishly erratic. Alabama got hit yesterday with some fatalities (:

What an absolutely worthy cause - kudos to you and all involved! If there's ever any need for transport out here in the hinterlands, let me know. What's a little gas money compared to a forever home for a purrbaby? *hugs*

That's wonderful! Enjoy your bonding with him. We have a tree outside our family room window that in ther inter has no leaves and the birdies perch there and our kittehs sit on the bacl of the couch just chattering away at them.

At least he met you at the door. Don't count on that behavior all the time..unless you get really lucky. Camille and I had a true love affair and she would get depressed if I was away for more than three days...but I was also freely and happily ignored when she felt like it. cats can be moody just like people.

there is just nothing as grand as having a furkid who likes you. I have seen folks with cats who "tolerate" them allow petting..maybe will even allow a snuggle or two....but the person who owns them is the human servant and not really shown much attention. I was always honored to get the occasional head bonk or kitty kiss from Ms Camille and how she would purr when she joined me in bed....once she had broken down the door to the room and proved to me I wouldn't get all stuffed up overnight because of her presence. She knew that when I went to bed, her place was beside me.....she would even come and get me if she thought I was staying up too late.

it sounds like you found a "your kitty" as in a kitty meant for only one or two people. A kitty in a brand new situation generally doesn't run to the door to meet someone unless they like them....and cats can decide that very quickly. A raised tail is not necessarily a bad sign....only if accompanied with an arched back and bristled fur. A raised tail can be a sign of happiness or joy...or the kitties style of making a greeting. Mage does the raised tail thing when ever he is petted in a way he likes....when he is showing one of us where to put his food....when he is happy to see one of us. I hope it keeps going this well!

i am so happy for you finally getting a live kitty to love cherish and race around the house. Nothing like teaching a kitten that there are limits....but it works if you can keep up with them and have a handy spray bottle to accompany the "no no kitty" if you don't catch them exactly when they are misbehaving....impossible. Oh my heavens...that Tinker is just so cute!
