Parenting is challenging, and often, kids can drive us a little haywire. Nonetheless, there's some parenting behavior that shouldn't be considered acceptable. Redditor u/MortalWombay posted a frustrating story of just how cruel his father was in the popular r/EntitledParents community, detailing how his father once took all his money, smashed his computer, and basically ruined his personal life for months all because OP lied about his grades as a teenager. It's a pretty ridiculous story that reinforces the idea that being an overly strict parent is only going to make your child resent you. OP said he learned why it's wrong to lie because he could see how much his mother was disappointed in him during this incident; all he said he learned from his father during this period of time was that his father was being a petty jerk.
Anger management issues much? Evidently, the event was memorable enough to stick with OP to this day. For more memorable entitled parents stories, check out the guy who left his kids with a stranger (it turns out well!)
Let's turn back time to OP's teenhood.
I was such a nerd back in high school. Wish I lived life more like this dude. He knew what was up.
