You know those lectures in school - the random ones? We had quite a few of those when we were kids, and for some reason, those were some of the most memorable classes we went through. We learned so many random facts. Maybe that's why we like learning storing random facts in our memory right now as well. Facts like octopuses sometimes punch fish for no reason other than spite - that's been proven, or facts like the tiny itty bitty black-footed cat has a higher kill rate than lions. Don't ask why we know remember these things, we just do. Just like this waitress randomly remembered that this woman taught her about dino poop in school.
Well, the lecture was actually about fossils, and fossils are pretty cool actually. If you somehow missed the viral thread about the truth about fossils in the Appalachian mountains, you are missing out. This waitress remembered the most random animal fact upon seeing this woman, and you know what- this is a hella wholesome thread that we really wanted to show you guys.
Goodness, this encounter could have gone in so, so many different directions. The fact that it went into the direction of dinosaur poop… is somehow horrific and wholesome at the same time. We can only imagine how this would have gone had you not been the correct person. "Dinosaur poop"- excuse you?
We do personally wish that kids would be more educated about animals - and we mean both wild animals and domesticated ones. If people knew more about cats, they would probably stop thinking that they are aloof and unfeeling. If they knew more about the things that go on in corporate massive farms… maybe something would be done to change some of those practices.
