Reader Squee: Baby Gerbils!

Liz says: "These six little darlings had their mother pass away when they were only a couple days old. The other adult female in their little family took over the job of cuddling, cleaning, and watching over them, but she was not lactating. I fed them formula out of a tiny syringe every four hours for weeks, until they could eat on their own. Luckily I was able to take them to work with me so I could feed them during the day. This picture was taken right after their fur had grown in, but before their eyes had opened. They all made it to adulthood!"

What an amazingly wonderful story of rescuing orphans, and loving them as if they were your own babies! I'm so happy they all survived thanks to you.
