I'm really sorry to hear that man. I just lost my cat in November. She was 10 years old. I'm still struggling with it. I know what you mean about commenting becoming a job. I feel that way sometimes especially when the system doesn't like to cooperate. I've relaxed my commenting a bit, I kinda want to get back to all thdme semi rping in the comments but I just don't have the motivation for it right now. The new season starts in April so it won't be long now until we get a bit busier. Good to see you back.

I'm still alive, yes. Zaboo told me about your message. I had another dog pass away, and this time it was one that I considered my personal dog. He followed me everywhere and was my best buddy, and when I finally felt up to chatting again, I realized that coming to the site was starting to feel like a job. That's nobody's fault but my own, because I was being way too focused on commenting on every post and reading every comment and trying way too hard to be funny (And probably failing mostly : p) So I just kept putting it off. I've kept in close contact with a few of the cheez members through Skype in the meantime, and I do want to come back now. I just need to be more relaxed about it. Thank you for messaging me, it's nice to know that at least some people remember me :p. How have you been lately?

Oi, you still around mate?

And thank you too. I definitely agree that the good memories outweigh the bad and it's important to focus on them. It hurts when your short lived pets leave you, but they give you a lot of joy when they live, and that's what you have to remember.

Thanks you for talking to me about it. This has brought back a lot of good memories for me. In the end theyou will always outweigh the pain of loss so at least for me it was worth it.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I told her, to find comfort with the dogs we still have and try to focus on the positive memories she has with Jack instead of blaming the vets and herself for not doing things differently. He died so suddenly that there was nothing nobody could have done. And yeah, Zoey is 14 years old, so she can't be around that much longer, but just the thought of her dying hurts. I don't think I'll be ready for it when it happens no matter how much I try to prepare myself. It is less painful when you can see it coming and prepare for it though, I'm glad you had that chance, but I'm still sorry you lost a beloved pet.

No dogs but I've got two cats one about 9 and the others around 3 or 4, not sure since they were both shelter cats. Lakota was a Malamute wolf mix and she lived to the maximum of her breed's life expectancy, so we'd been preparing for something to happen for a while before it did. I would say replacing a pet right away isn't the best option, especially since you still have a lot like you said. You'll have to get her to focus on the others somehow.

Yeah, we have a 14 year old that still seems pretty energetic. We have mostly small breeds, so hopefully hip dysplasia won't be an issue That sucks that your dog had to die that way, though. Have you gotten another dog since then, or was she your only one? My family is already talking about getting another dog just so my Mom will stop crying, but I don't think that's how we should deal with it. Even with Jack gone, we still have too many dogs already.

Yeah about five years ago we had to put our 13 year old malamute down. She had arthritis pretty bad and one day she just couldn't get up anymore. Big dogs can get whats called hip dysplasia which is what happened with her. It's hard to think about and it always will be but I don't regret the time I spent with her. That's the best thing to focus on. Find a good memory and cement it in your mind. It helps when your thoughts dwell on that pet to have it be something you chose to remember.

Thanks man. It just happened so suddenly. He was fine yesterday and died that quickly. I'm sorry that you had to go through it too.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I know how rough that is to go through.
