I was on a work placement at a vets and a cruelty case came in. A once beautiful border collie had been neglected to the point where, due to a skin condition, it had hardly any fur left on it's body. As I held his head while other nurse bathed his sore skin I half expected him to fight us and try bite me, but he rested his head on my shoulder and stood quite happily while we washed and dried him. Knowing that he still trusts humans even after all one's put him through MMD
The other day, my sister and I went to the store to buy snacks so we could hang out for a few hours. We noticed an elderly woman struggling with her cart, and got out to help her. Hearing her story while we loaded her (HEAVY!) groceries was heartbreaking; she said no one had ever offered to help her before, not even store employees. Knowing that my sister and I made that much of a difference to her totally MMD.
I just joined the military and since I live in LA, It's not uncommon to hear rude or snide comments from people. But today, when I was out running, I passed a man on the sidewalk and he said “Good work son, thank you for serving”. Knowing that there are people out there that support us MMD.
The morning my mom died, I was a total wreck coming home. Walking through the door, I slogged through the now empty house to my bed, thinking I would just cry myself to sleep. There I found my cranky old beagle, who promptly curled up in a ball snuggled up to me. He never complained as I held him, never grumbled or growled as was his custom. Just lay there and let me hold onto something I needed badly. It was as though he was saying "I'm here for you." His comfort mmd
One cold and rainy afternoon, I was feeling very tired. I went to lie down on the couch and accidentally fell asleep. When I woke up, my daughter was wedged in behind me, my son was snuggled up in front of me, and my cat was sprawled out across the top of me, and all of them were fast asleep. Waking up at the bottom of a cuddle pile MMD.
While at the packed grocery store i noticed the older man in front of me was short $7.00 for his order and started to decide what to put back. I took the $7.00 out of my purse and paid for the remainder of his groceries, helped him load them into his car, returned his cart and helped him into his car. Turns out he was deaf and signed to me "god bless, you are an angel, thank you so much." This MMWeek.
I was at work one day, and a young boy and his father came to my register. The boy told me how excited he was that him and his daddy were going out to lunch; I rubbed my belly and said "I sure am hungry myself!" A half hour later they came back with a Burger King Meal for me. I remember their kindness everyday and try to do the same.
