You're welcome. Thanks for accepting and for the compliment. ;) His name is Frazzle, and he's a mascot for The Blog of Helios (linuxlock.blogspot.com). I'm one to change my avatars regularly, but people keep complimenting him. Then there's recognizability/fanbase. Don't want to shoot myself in the foot, so I guess I'm stuck with him... LOL!

Hey, thank you for accepting and liking my lol! It's ok that you don't have the Thermometer, I just figured if anyone *did* have an extra, I could trade with them for it. But it looks like I'll have to go with plan B in getting it!

all you'd have to do is go neon for the costume and tease your hair out. Anyway i hate the heat as well, but after 9-10 months of snow an rain you kinda want a little bit of sun.

I know same here. Although Bowie's mullet back in 73 was pretty kick-ass. so jealous of you! its still kinda cold here cant wait for summer! hopefully we get some sun and not just rain

I'm glad that helped. Don't hesitate to ask me about other algebra (or other math) topics. The boxes of snow are on the way to you via UPS!!!

You flip an inequality sign when you multiply or divide by a negative number because the quantity which was previously bigger than the other is now (after the multiply or divide) more negative (smaller) than the other quantity. For example, suppose we have 9 > 4. That perfectly fine. If we multiply both sides by +2, we get 18 > 8. That's still OK. Now suppose we multiply both sides by -1. We now have -18 and -8. What is the correct inequality sign now? Which quantity is now bigger and which is now smaller. We have the following: -18 < -8 So now, -18 is less than -8. So we had to change the inequality from ">" to "<" . This works the same way with variables: Suppose x > 3 If we multiply both sides by -2, we get -2x < -6 because -2x is more negative (smaller) than -6. I hope this helps. Let me know if anything is not clear or if you have other questions. --Len

If you ever have any questions from algebra class, I'd be happy to discuss them with you. We had an inch of snow last night - not too bad if it just had to snow. I could send you a BIG box (or 2 or 3 or 6 or 20 boxes) of snow, if you'd like. I got PLENTY!!

I found the "Algebra-loving geek" part of your profile interesting. Are you taking Algebra now? Or taken it already? I'm a math tutor so I like it when I meet someone who likes Algebra or other math areas. Playing in snow can be fun. Having to shovel it or drive in it or getting stuck in it is not so much fun. I grew up in New Jersey so we had snow most winters. In Massachusetts, the last few winters have not been too bad, snow-wise. But this year has been a different story. It was milder on Sunday and today, so a little bit of the snow melted. But there is still LOTS left. I have this theory that if there are alligators somewhere, there is no snow, and vice-versa. I haven't proved it but there is strong evidence. So which level of math are you taking this year? What other subjects do you like?
