yea, I agree with that sentiment totally
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:53 PM
Really? I'm surprised more people don't support the death penalty. The way I see it, all humans have certain rights, until they choose to forfeit them. Crimes against humanity, such as rape and murder, are caused by sick people who have no moral compass whatsoever. Their lives are not worth the risk of a repeat offense.
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:46 PM
heh, your one of the few people Ive discussed this with who have actually agreed with me. Most just rabbit on about "human rights" (Screw their rights, what about the rights of the poor child/children you have mentally, physically and sexualy abused?) They took those away so they deserve no rights of their own. Its the same with anyone who committs rape or murder
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:38 PM
I agree. I think the death penalty should be extended to include all crimes against children, violent or sexual. They are absolutely the most sickening, evil acts. The people who do that stuff should be shown no mercy.

oppinion**
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:35 PM
Yea but even so, it must be really hard for them, even if they get put away. I cant imagine myself getting into that line of work to be honest. I just dont think i would ever have the stomach for it, let alone the mental strength not to break down. I personally would bring back the death penalty for such stuff, or at least castrate them so they couldnt do anything like that again, but that is just my opp
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:23 PM
It is sick how far people will go to keep their addiction to that stuff hidden. I can't even begin to imagine how the police people who deal with that stuff must feel. A lot of them probably have children of their own, and I know that must make it especially difficult. I guess it might be rewarding at the same time, though. They are putting those creeps behind bars :)
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:14 PM
Actually, we had a lecture on child pornography (a sad necessity as it is becoming more and more prevalent these days) and the lecturer said that medical journals were one of the only placese where such stuff would not land you into trouble., and it made me think how much the two are intertwined. Also didnt realise how far these people go to prevent you catching them. Its quite disturbing really and even more so if your a police person who has to go through 10'000 or so of these images at a time and classify them
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:07 PM
Yeah, that's true. I guess there are so many unknowns left. Medicine is the same way. There are so many ethical questions surrounding the research and practice of medicine that it gets a bit sticky sometimes.
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:00 PM
Yea, the only bit that im maybe not enjoying as much is the ethics, but then again, its only been 10 - 15 years since computers started to become prevalent in society, so I guess there are still a lot of grey areas concerning what is morally and ethically right and wrong when it comes to computers
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 11:50 AM
Lol, yeah. Whenever I have to call tech support to ask a question, they throw out all this computer lingo that I don't understand. Computer science is definitely one of the most useful fields out there, and I would imagine that it is also one of the most interesting. After all, technology is improving constantly :)

I know, we're learning stuff like machine language, which is language that all computers use to run, we're taking apart computers and looking inside them. I like to think of myself as a computer literate person but theres a lot of stuff I dont know about and thats what makes it a good course. Still, blowing stuff up in the labs sounds fun too ^_^
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 11:24 AM
Lol, that is so funny. I wish my lectures were that fun! Although, we did blow a few things up in a recent chemistry lab....that was pretty cool. There are so many things I wish I knew how to do on the computer. The concept of modems and routers fascinates me. It's amazing how much can be done with the internet. The world is a smaller place because of it.
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 10:49 AM
Yea its really awesome. For example, in one of our lessons we learnt how to create and send fake emails (like the random ones spammers send(e.g. psfortesccue@tortoise.com)). The thing was though, that before we started any of it, we got given 2 pages worth of laws we would be breaking if we were caught doing any of this sort of stuff out of the lab ^_^ so its really cool that we are trusted with this sort of stuff
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 10:45 AM
That sounds really interesting. Are you enjoying it?
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 10:41 AM
Im half way through my first year of my forensic computing course ^_^
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 10:35 AM
Yeah, I wasn't much of a coffee drinnker until recently - lol. I'm a biology/pre-med student. How about you?
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 10:30 AM
Thats true. I kinda wish they had one at the place where most of my lectures are, cause the vending machine coffee is horrible. What are you studying by the way ^_^
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 9:55 AM
I know exactly how you feel - lol. I am also in college and my hours are ridiculous. When I first arrived on campus, I wondered why there were so many coffee shops...now I understand lol.
By KaiHallarn111 on Dec 13, 2008 at 8:47 AM
Tired lol. Ever since I started university, my sleeping patterns been outta wack, most nights i either get some sleep at 6 in the morning (not good when i need to be at lectures at 9) or I end up not sleeping at all and having to spend the day in a caffiene induced hype lol.
By LOLsnowshoe on Dec 13, 2008 at 12:12 AM
Lol, I know....it's addictive! I'm doing good thanks. How about you :)
