*clappities* Good for you. I'll be fluttering in and out from time to time. Hope to catch you soon. :-)

Hiya, stranger. ? Just popping in to see what's up and to confirm that I am indeed still kicking around. Been real busy lately. They changed everything at work with a new system. (If it ain't broke comes to mind. LOL.) I started a new position. I'm now in charge of the backroom. It is brutal. ? The alternative was coming in at 6 in the morning and let's face it, I'm not a morning person. I'm not an afternoon or an evening one either, but there you go. ? Hope you and yours are doing good. I'll still be popping in and out from time to time, so hopefully my starship is in your sector the same time you are. Hope you and your family have a Happy Easter. ?

Fanks. :-) I hope so, too. I know a lot of fanboys nitpicked at them. I was a casual comic reader. Never got into them that deep. I know most of the characters and that's about it. I read Mad occasionally. I was into Cracked more. When I was in the service, I would occasionally pick up a copy of National Lampoon. I still might have a few of them.
By Sylviag on Jan 26, 2015 at 3:25 PM
Plans are good and hope they come to fruition cuz you deserve it. I was reading an article that at first some people did not think the comics would translate well into movies but boy, were they proven wrong. I never read comics that much until I was older and got hooked on MAD. I guess they stilll publish it but nowhere as popular as i was then. Counterculture then and now are way different.

Well, it might be in the 70's, but it's hardly balmy. :-) It was so windy today it felt like it was in the 50's. :-p Good for you. I don't know yet what I'm going to do. I have plans. Just hoping they work out. I need a break and boy, do I need a change. o_O I haven't seen that yet. The only Marvel movies I've seen are all the X-Men ones and the first Captain America. I liked the new Spider-Man. Haven't seen number two yet. It's on my bucket list. :-)
By Sylviag on Jan 26, 2015 at 8:00 AM
Yeah, looks like a balmy 70+ for you all. I imagine early Spring is some of the best weather there. Love the word chicanery! Doing good here; already lining up things to do this Spring and summer. I like having trips and events to look forward to. And this is the year you are going to visit the Coast :) Over New Year's we atched the DVD Guardians of the Galaxy which was a fun sci fi romp.
By Mac_Man on Jan 24, 2015 at 5:09 PM
It's all right, I suppose. Aside from the usual gaggle of crazies and other assorted chicanery. :-) I'm not ready for spring because that means a hot and humid summer is just around the corner. o_O How's things in your neck of the woods?
By Sylviag on Jan 24, 2015 at 12:20 PM
Been awhile. Is the new year treating you well? I am already ready for Spring :) Unusually mild winte here makes me want to grub in th yard but I know we have some winter stuff to come yet.
By Mac_Man on Jan 9, 2015 at 3:51 PM
I remember those days. It doesn't happen much down here, but back in Connecticut it was "interesting". :-)
By Sylviag on Jan 9, 2015 at 6:57 AM
We have thick fog today, somewhhat unusual for here. In WA we had a lot of foggy days wher you just wandered around in the miasma getting damp and hoping nothing creepy popped up in front of you LOL
By Mac_Man on Jan 8, 2015 at 3:53 PM
I tried Manhattan one time. Never again. Yuck. I don't mind seafood chowder. I just can't have some of the veggies in it. Yeah. It didn't get too cold but the wind was fierce today. Made it feel like it was cooler than it was. Of course I'm celebrating Grumpy style. Go with what works. :-) Thanks for the mittens. My paws are all nice and toasty now. :-) I've seen that, too. I have a name for people like that. It rhymes with trucking grass-holes. o_O
By Sylviag on Jan 8, 2015 at 8:15 AM
LOL I see you're ringing in the New Year GC style.
By Sylviag on Jan 8, 2015 at 8:12 AM
Oh absolutely on the chowder! Red kinds are like tomatoe soup with some clams thrown in :) I do love a good cioppino but that includes the whole range of seafood . Sending you some Grumpy Cat mittens. From what I read the cold has reached as far as your area. Oh and I love the people who cruise the parking lot for like 10 minutes up and down, up and down to find something closer. By the time they find one that suits they could have had all their shopping done. Costco is notorious for that. We didn;t ake it until midnight so you're one up on us.
By Mac_Man on Jan 6, 2015 at 3:43 PM
You got that right. :-) Parking isn't too bad because I get to work long before the store opens. But when I go shopping, it's a different matter. All the lazy tools have to park right on top of the door because heaven forbid they have to walk. o_O Mmm. Cllam chowder. Sounds yummy. Hope you're talking about the New England kind because none of the others are chowders as far as I'm concerned. :-) Hope you and yours had a Happy New Year. We did nothing here. Mom went to bed early and I putzed around online for a bit. I put the TV on about two minutes to midnight just to watch the ball drop, then shut it off again.
By Sylviag on Jan 6, 2015 at 9:12 AM
Well then you will never go cuz ALL the crazies are never going home :) I can imagine on the parking. I like going to the OR coast in the winter because there are not as many tourists and we don't have to park a mile away when we want to go to the waterfront in Newport. It's a working ocean fishing port so not totally touristified. Got my clam chowder fix at our favorite place there. It sounds like a simple thing to make but boy can a lot of restaurants mess it up.
By Mac_Man on Dec 29, 2014 at 3:49 PM
Okay. Maybe after all the crazies go back home and the red tide dissipates. No sense making myself sick. :-) I actually want to go down the pier and watch the sunset, but parking is a nightmare. But I resolve to make the attempt. Thanks kindly. Wishing you and yours a Happy New Year as well. *hugs*
By Sylviag on Dec 28, 2014 at 7:25 PM
OK, goal for the new year is fpr you to dip your foot into the water :) Take a picnic lunch (or a bag of cheetos) and just do it. And wishing you a very happy New Year.
By Mac_Man on Dec 27, 2014 at 2:46 PM
Yep. I hear you. Being inundated with it since before Thanksgiving doesn't help, either. :-/ Well, hope you have fun on your trip. :-) We're about five miles inland, so yes, I guess you could say that. We've been down here almost 13 years and I've yet to get down there. Work and other things just seem to keep me away. Go figure. :-)
By Sylviag on Dec 26, 2014 at 9:31 PM
And we're on to a band New Year. I love Christmas time but can't sustain that merriment for too long so good to get back to more mundane life. All the decs packed away and we'll get ready to go to the ocean next Tues for 5 days. Do you live fairly close to the Gulf?
By Mac_Man on Dec 24, 2014 at 5:42 PM
Mmm. Sounds yummy :-) Thank you kindly. Wishing you, the hubby, your son and g'kids, and the rest of your family (including the furry, fuzzy kind) a safe, happy, and joyous Christmas. *hugs*
By Sylviag on Dec 23, 2014 at 8:20 PM
LOL Your favoriet libation with a splash of eggnog. I see you're spreading LOL Christmas cheer again :) Wishing you and your Mom a nice calm and cozy Christmas.
By Mac_Man on Dec 23, 2014 at 3:42 PM
You're welcome. :-) I value your friendship as well. A toast, you say? I hope it's potent. o_O
By Sylviag on Dec 23, 2014 at 7:53 AM
Thanks McM! You are one of my longest time friends here and I value that friendship very much A toast to another year for us both.

You are very welcome. I see we moved on from Grumpy :)
By Mac_Man on Dec 20, 2014 at 2:45 PM
Ooh. Now I'm all warm and tingly inside. What a strange sensation. :-) All kidding aside, thanks very much for the holiday greetings. Hope yours is fantastic.
By Sylviag on Dec 19, 2014 at 10:49 PM
Warm and fuzzies from me to you http://cheezburger.com/8406486528
By Mac_Man on Dec 17, 2014 at 3:18 PM
Yeah, we'll go with warm and fuzzy...like a block of cheese that's been left out in the sun. o_O It was busy, but a lot of times it had its benefits. We usually got money (as in tips) from the families if we did weddings and funerals. Seeing as I lived the closest, I usually jumped at the chance. Hey, 20 bucks is a lot of money when you're a kid. :-) No. I didn't go to Catholic school. I was a public school rat all through high school.
By Sylviag on Dec 17, 2014 at 9:14 AM
I've always known there was a warm and fuzzy in there :) Softie snark. I did not realize how busy an alter boy was. Not much time to get in trouble :) Did you go to a Chatholic school also?
