OK...

By The_Great_and_Powerful_Trixie_ on Apr 30, 2013 at 3:54 PM

The pages are in the middle of the chapter, so the table of contents will not be able to help. the book does not seem to have an index.

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 30, 2013 at 3:16 PM

Since Princess Twilight doesn't appear to be around... are there any clues as to the nature of the missing pages by looking at a table of contents or an index? Or is this book even organized like that?

Thank you.

That was the only copy in Canterlot archives, Twilight may have read so she might be able to help

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 30, 2013 at 8:49 AM

Was that the only copy of the history book? If there isn't one in Canterlot, perhaps Twilight has one? Or may have read this one before, so perhaps she memorized the missing pages? Or could there be another copy, say in Manehattan or Canterbury?

The geography book was open to a page detailing a mountain range beyond the badlands south east of Canterlot, (Going by a map of Equestria found on Google by the by) there appears to be the ruins of a city on one of the peaks. As to the history book, it describes the creation of Equestria told from the lore of an ancient race of unicorns. it tells of five elemental spirits who brought the planet into being. These being the spirits of the five elements, Fire, earth, water air and magic. It appears there was more, but Hecate seems to have taken a couple of pages...

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 30, 2013 at 7:13 AM

Is there anything in the history and geography books that may suggest where Hecate is going and why she might be going there?

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 29, 2013 at 7:49 AM

That sounds like enough to give them an idea of where to start. Thanks!

The book does describe a process for binding the entity into an object, but to do so requires an object capable of holding an immense amount of power. the Armlet used in the original binding was heavily enchanted before hand, however now the enchantments have been broken and it is useless a great amount of power is also needed for the binding to be successful. the book describes that more then half of House Lulamoon was needed for the original spell. What else do you need to know?

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 29, 2013 at 7:35 AM

Anything about the entity that may be helpful in binding it or banishing it?

By The_Great_and_Powerful_Trixie_ on Apr 29, 2013 at 7:05 AM

The book is a research journal written by the Lulamoon's detailing their experiments and creations. the last couple of chapters talk about the creation the Armlet and the capture of a powerful magical entity. it details their experiments on the entity and how they managed, after great trouble and the loss of a couple of lives, to put the entity into an armlet. Creating powerful magical lens capable of allowing a pony to perform great magical feats normally beyond them.

OK, what about when I translate that book you found on the quest?

OOC: What The Prime Elemental's are are the five main elements that make up the world. they are earth, Fire, air, water and magic.

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 29, 2013 at 6:04 AM

OOC: They want me to research that Old Horsk book and they're probably going to want me to tell them what Prime Elementals is all about. What should I tell them?

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 25, 2013 at 5:52 AM

Oh yes, we have a whole shelf in the magic theory section, several spellbooks that specialize in their summoning, control and banishment, and we also have a number of field guides concerning identification.

By The_Great_and_Powerful_Trixie_ on Apr 22, 2013 at 8:31 PM

Master Hoofwise? Do you have any books on elemental creatures?

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 18, 2013 at 6:23 AM

Of course. And congratulations on your engagement. Prince Blueblood has certainly seemed distracted lately. I was wondering at the cause. *he bows* A worthy cause indeed, my lady.

By The_Great_and_Powerful_Trixie_ on Apr 18, 2013 at 3:57 AM

Of course, you are right Hoofwise. Trixie is meeting with the Princess tomorrow for dinner. Perhaps the opportunity shall show itself there to speak with her on this matter. Thank you for your help Master Hoofwise.

*he looks grim* Fimbulwinter, also known as the Ragnarock Armlet. Of unknown provenance. It is reputed to be a magical lens. It magnifies the power of spells cast through it and deflects spells cast against it. And it has other effects. It magnifies the personality of the wielder, making them more exaggerated in their dominant traits. In practice, this has been a corrupting influence, as the ponies who took possession of it were seeking power, therefore they sought to use this power to gain more and more power. It was lost to history 1400 years ago. It has been waiting for the right pony, or perhaps for the wrong pony, to take it up. It is treacherous; none of us are as good in our hearts as we believe ourselves to be. This can magnify the good, but evil is far more insidious and convenient. If you have this thing... I advise you to give it to the Princess, let her decide.

*looks down at the book and at the picture of the gold band* That is it.

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 17, 2013 at 6:44 PM

*His eyes narrow* Just a moment. *He steps away and goes down the hall. He opens a locked door and a few minutes later, emerges with an old tome. He returns to the desk, puts the book on the desk and opens it to the middle. He frowns and turns several pages, then shows it to you.* Did it look like this?

By The_Great_and_Powerful_Trixie_ on Apr 17, 2013 at 5:12 PM

It is from... An armlet. Trixie has been trying to to find out more about it and what it is.

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 17, 2013 at 5:08 PM

Can you not tell me anything about this object? This is a dire inscription. On an item of Power, it would indicate extreme danger.

By The_Great_and_Powerful_Trixie_ on Apr 17, 2013 at 5:02 PM

*looks deep in thought for a moment* Thank you Hoofwise, Trixie needs to do some more research it seems.

By Master_Hoofwise on Apr 17, 2013 at 4:58 PM

What... sort... of artifact? *looks fearful* "Brothers will fight and kill each other, sisters' children will defile kinship. It is harsh in the world, whoredom rife —an axe age, a sword age (and the sun rises) —shields are riven— a wind age, a wolf age— before the world goes headlong. No pony will have mercy on another. . ." *shudders* This prophesies the end of the world, Miss Trixie.

By The_Great_and_Powerful_Trixie_ on Apr 17, 2013 at 4:45 PM

It was inscribed on an artifact that we recovered from our adventure. can you read it?
