So where did you live before Dubai and what brought you there? If you had a choice of where you could live, where would it be and why? Would you like to exchange e-mail and/or IM addresses?

Since I know what most people ask, i.e. "what is a torbie," or "what is a tortie?" Here's a web site that can explain what those terms mean: http://www.seregiontica.org/Colors/tortietorbie/tortietorbie.htm

I have three cats of my own, Stephanie, Bonnie and Daisy (Bonnie and Daisy are torties and Steph is a torbie), and five "foster" cats, Rocky (an orange tabby male), William (a grey tabby and white male), Ginger (a blonde and white female), Katee (Ginger's daughter who is also blonde and white), and Chiana (a blue tux female). That makes the eight that live in my house. There are also about 50 feral cats housed in several enclosures on my property. So, the answer to your question is yes, I do have pets. Have you always lived in Dubai?

I may grow old but I refuse to grow up. Anyway, I live in northeast Florida, USA, near the city of Jacksonville. I'm sorry that you're not happy where you're living now. Do you permanently live there or are your parents there doing some contract work?

Well, how interesting. You're a British Subject and in what we would call High School over here. As for me, yes, I'm employed, or rather self-employed and grown older. As far as grown up is concerned... not so much. Let's just say that there are fewer differences in our age than in our years.

Cats are, indeed, the best. After all, ancient civilizations worshiped cats as gods. Cats have not forgotten this. So tell me, are you in school now?

No, I've been working in I.T. since the 80's and I'm self-taught. That's actually handy because it means that as new technology comes out you're already used to learning new things so it's just part of the job to be a perpetual learner. Next week I'll be going to a Crestron training class in Orlando. What kind of stuff interests you?

Okay, full disclosure here, I did not design or create the web site. I was involved with some of the some of the systems that are on the site but I've only been working directly with Mike for less than a year. I've done I.T. work for him and some of his clients for about 6-7 years, I guess, but now we're working on a couple of major projects that involve some really sophisticated home automation. The system backbone is based on Crestron equipment. You might Google Crestron and check out their stuff. It's really impressive. Anyway, good to hear from you. Take care.

"Normal body procedures of a little girl" ... um, what? That's not exactly something I hear every day. You have a way with words, no doubt. Anyway, I've been bouncing back and forth between helping some of my I.T. clients and the new audio/video/home automation stuff that I'm doing with my friend, Mike. You should check out some of the systems he (and now we) have put together at his web site: www.michaelgravesdesignsinc.com. I think you'll find it interesting. Anyway, I hope that you're firing on all cylinders soon. Stay in touch. -Dave
