LOL! Trifle silly! LOL!!! That was very clever!!!! Oooooh.....I'd love a good sherry trifle right about now! They don't typically serve them in restaurants here, but we do have Bird's Custard Powder in the stores here, so I guess I should go make my own! YUM!

It must feel a little strange to be working again after all that time, but I'm sure you're getting used to it already. The west nile virus situation sounds serious, but it's sad they've had to resort to spraying such vast areas with pesticide as that can bring problems of it's own to the ecosystem. Oh well. Stay safe!

Hi Nightowl, yes, the new job is going well-- there's a pretty big learning curve right now, but I'm sure I'll eventually learn it all (I hope so, anyway!) LOL! The mosquito virus is a VERY big deal here right now; we had three new cases this week and about 28 in all for this general region and four deaths so far. The mosquito fogging truck has been through our neighborhood a lot in the last couple of weeks. No one dares go outside at night (or early morning) without spraying themselves down with repellant. Hopefully they'll get it under control soon.

Thanks - It's a shame about the oak tree, but at least no-one got hurt! I heard about a mosquito virus affecting Texas, so I hope you stay safe from that. Hope everything is running smoothly in your new job! :)

Thanks Nightowl. Yes, I think the new job will be awesome. It's certainly a relief to be working again in this awful ecomomy! Hope your weather gets better. We got a good amount of rain Sunday. Apparently, many of our trees are still feeling the after affects of last year's drought--a neighbor across the street lost a massive limb out of a huge oak tree the other morning. It narrowly missed a parked car along the curb of the street, but blocked the neighbors from driving out of their driveway. That's the third limb in as many weeks that have fallen from trees in our neighborhood. **Sigh** Well, I have to run, it's past my bedtime (which is early, now that I'm back to working LOL!). Hope you have a great week and I'll talk to you soon! **HUGS**

Congratulations on your new job, I hope it's something enjoyable. I know, the weather is going quite crazy everywhere - climate change? It's hotter than California here at the moment but it's not due to last long. Glad you are forecast some rain, I do feel very sorry for the farmers who lose entire crops due to drought, that must be terrible. Your jewellery sounds great - perhaps you could sell some on Etsy or somewhere? I would never have the patience to make home made jewellery, although I've been known to make home made greetings cards (collage, etc) I think I get the crafting gene from my Mum, as she's always making stuff out of things other people would probably throw away!

Hi Nightowl! Sorry I didn't get back to you yesterday. Well it's been a bit dry here for the last several weeks, with only a few light showers now and again. We are supposed to get some more rain this weekend, I believe. I haven't been making much jewelry lately; I got un-motivated-- LOL! It comes in spurts for me. I made a ton of earrings and bracelets and some necklaces, but I haven't tried to sell any of it yet. I actually started a new job today! Yea! I've been out of work 2 weeks shy of a year now and I finally landed a great job. I'm very excited about it and hope it will last a good long time! Are things settling down now, after the Olympics? It looked like you all were getting some sunny weather there some days at least. Has it gotten better this year? The weather this year has been absolutely crazy, hasn't it? Hope you have a very good weekend. I'll probably be online sometime over the weekend, so maybe we can chat and LOL some more! **Hugs**

I watched most of the opening ceremony (on T.V.) I liked the part with the animals and fields, and yes, the parachuting 'Queen' was certainly a highlight! I found some of the other scenes quite bizarre, but at least it was different, I suppose :D
