Morning here, I agree responsible people should be able to defend themselves. I would probabley shoot my toes off. Its sad that things continue to stay the same and the government cant or ont help. Stay safe my friend and enjoy the good times. Kitty hugs Sandy

Well, in France, you are not allowed to carry a gun, you are not even allowed to defend yourself when you are attacked because you must only rely on the police and not on yourself. But the police is totally unefficient and criminals, rapists and thiefs are ruling. One day, I was attacked by a guy with a knife. In a country where guns are forbidden, citizens are under the law of criminals, who don't even care to respect the rules. I feel responsible enough to carry a gun and I think it would be great to teach people how to defend themselves and to carry a gun in a responsible way ;) Cheers and hugs!

By Sugarcatsmom on Oct 7, 2011 at 5:22 AM

Thankyou for the compliment. I think im just practical. Not everyone can carry a gun. I wouldnt want one I would probably shoot myself. Thepeople who have guns probably shouldnt. Most people have a what can you do attitude. I just take one day at a time and see what happens. You have a great day. Kitty hugs Sandy

You must be a very wise and mature person :) It is a pleasure to know that some people still refuse this harmful model. Sometimes, I feel as if I was the last on Earth to refuse it. People around me are so different. They don't understand that, with my age, I already live for years with my fiancé and that I know he's the love of my life since the beginning. They don't understand why I have never been drunk, or slept with men, why I never party and dance - I prefer quiet evenings with my fiancé, reading a good book or simply enjoying our time together. They all think I'm wasting my youth. But I'm really happy as I am, and I think that they are actually wasting their youth because they are unable to enjoy simple moments and are intellectually and spiritually empty. I'm so sad about your story :s Life seems difficult in America too. I thought the USA were a kind of paradise because people are allowed to wear guns and because people respect freedom and property... but life seems not really joyful there too :s courage and hugs!

Well the 60' were the same worldwide. I just didnt fit in. I can see the kidds just like it was yesterday. Alcohol, drugs, free sex anywhere. We had (still have) famous music festivals in the summer and no one was sober. My dad used to kick kids out of our yard. We have people here loosing their homes and kids going hungry. Its such a shame. A friend of my daughters is disabled and she called to borrow a can of soup because her food money was slashed. We went throguh the cubbards and fridge and my daughter took her over five bags of food. We can't do this all the time but that was not fair. She has no way to make money. Kitty hugs Sandy

Il France, people of your generation are also called baby boomers and are considered as the May 68 generation. In May 1968, students and workers striked for liberty but without responsibility and maturity. They wanted to party, to drink, to divorce as many times as they wanted, considering that everything was their right. They wanted to enjoy without strain and the result is that France is a battered country, rotten by profiteers and opportunists, morally and culturally degenerating. The youth is depressed because the May 68 model only provides them superficial contentment and they have no ambitions, no strength and no will to be superior. The French ideology only learns them to be mediocre and to fit in the model. I totally agree with you about the fact that western countries should help themselves first and use their money for worthy projects. The French government is wasting our wealth. Hugs!

So sorry to hear about your country. Its not much better here. People in my age group are called baby boomers. During war time there were a lot of babies born and we make up a large part of the population. We got jobs and most of us stayed with them , me for security.I have good benefits. The government keeps warning us the money may not be there. We help other countries, send money for disasters and of course the war. We need to start helping ourselves. Im proud to be American but we need some changes. We must hold our heads high and be thankful for what we have. Kitty hugs Sandy

Hi, thanks for the congrats :) you're welcome for the collectible! I wanted to offer you something but if one day you need a specific collectible I have as an extra, don't be shy and ask me, it would be a great pleasure for me to help you! France should be a beautiful contry but the government tries to destroy it with measures, laws, taxes, etc. and is wasting our wealth and our culture. The truth is I live in a dying country, and witnessing such a beautiful country, with a rich history and culture dying is just tragic. Oh, you're working for such a long time, and it seems such a difficult work. It is so sad that, exactly like in France, workers get so few when the retire. I really respect your faith and your courage, I hope one day you will be able to retire and have time for you, your family and your beautiful cat :) Hugs

Thanks so much for the collectible. Kitty Hugs Sandy

By Sugarcatsmom on Sep 30, 2011 at 11:32 AM

Sorry to hear that. When I think of France I think of a beautiful peaceful country. Guess the world is a fantasy that we can only dream about. I do like my work but some of the things I have to put up with. Ive been here 40 years and seen so many changes.I actually have two different jobs now due to downsizing. One day I have a clean job, the next day I work in the gross room assisting.I would like to retire in a few years but right now its almost impossible. The cost of health care and what we get when we retire is a laugh. We will see one day I may say thats it. Hars work and little pay for being here so long. Take care my friend. Kitty hugs Sandy

Hi! The French school system is just rotten, as many other things in France anyway. The whole French system is degenerating into something very frightening and people are so indoctrinated and immature that they don't even realise it. Thank you for your kind support ;) I would love to own a book store, but it is also very difficult in France because the price of books is regulated and prices are very high... and people don't read anymore - they prefer the television. Ayway, running your own business in France is very difficult because of the very high taxes. So wait and see. I don't really want to stay in France, and maybe, when I'll live in another country, I will be on my own and have a dream job. For the moment, I'm happy with what I got and I only think of earning some money to be able to pay my books and vinyles ;) Maybe one day you'll have your own bakery or anything you want. Do you enjoy your job as a medical secretary? Hugs :)

By Sugarcatsmom on Sep 28, 2011 at 6:20 PM

I didnt realize things were so bad in the school system. You are highly educated and can do whatever you want. I would love to have had my my own business- a bakery, yarn shop, book store, etc. Maybe you can think about that. Go out on your own and choose what you want to do. Do I make any sense. I might be barking up the wrong tree for you but I can tell your not happy after working so hard to get your degrees. Take care my friend. Kitty hugs sandy

Hi :) I'm not teaching, I refuse to teach considering the awful situation in France, with its illiterate and violent pupils criticizing the French culture and litterature. So I tried to find another job and am now working as an IS consultant. I could have been a teacher for university students and have already been encouraged to prepare a doctorate, but these are very long studies and there are no places for young graduates in French universities. The French school system in France is criticized because it is unefficient, expensive and because young people are unable to learn simple things like the French grammar. They are also unable to learn foreign languages because of the unefficient methods of French teachers. It is a public system with a public programme which is simplified every year. In History, for example, teachers do not teach anymore Napoélon Bonaparte and Louis XIV, which is a perfect shame. Basically, there are maternelle and école primaire for children, then collège and lycée for teenagers, and then université after the baccalauréat diploma. At the university, you've got licence and master's degrees and then the doctorate, which must be prepared only for the pleasure, because there is no guarantee for a student to find a job as a university teacher. Most of the students can't find a job after their studies because they are prejudiced by theorical studies that do not prepare them to the realities of life. In many French universities, teachers - they are fonctionnaires that means they are civil servants - are still very communist and try to convey their hatred for capitalism. So students are manipulated by them and are unable to find a good job; they begin their career miserably in a hopeless work, unworthy of their diplomas. About the Maine Coons, it is just not the good time for a pet because I still live in a little flat and having a cat in this situation is not ideal ;) I want my future cat to be happy and free to play in a larger home. In my little flat, my fiancé and I already feel a bit cramped, so with a third resident, it may be difficult to survive :D Hugs!

Hi Well deserved compliment. Are you teaching kids or adults. How is the school system in France. Just saw Bunraites post about Maine Coon kitties. I have had one other Maine Coon in fact she was my very first kitty. I found Stripe and I found Rocky. Maine Coons must grow on trees here LOL. Are you having trouble finding one or is this not a good time for a pet. They have the most beautiful tails that when held high in greeting fan out. Rocky just adores my daughter. He climbs up her and "nurses" on her shoulder. Kitty hugs Sandy

Hi :) thanks for you kind words! It was quite a compliment anyway :) Hugs!

Elegant yes thats the word. Make sure they print your book in english also. Kitty hugs Sandy

By OryuKitty on Sep 19, 2011 at 11:01 AM

Hi :) Thanks! This is quite a compliment, especially in an English conversation! I'm not a native English speaker and I try to practice my best but it is sometimes difficult when you live in a French speaking country. French people are just awful in foreign languages and they are too lazy to practice something else than basic French with a limited vocabulary :D One day, I'm sure they will only speak with grunts because it is easier :D But I read, write and watch films and series in English. And the fact that I studied French helps. When you master you own language, it is easier to learn foreign ones. I don't want to be a professional writer, it is impossible for a living. But I will someday write one ore two novels, just for the pleasure and because friends and university teachers told me my French is very elegant. Wait and see ;) Hugs to you and you kind family. I hope your friends are dealing with their lives after the hurricane.
