It's just where and when i build it, the problem with portals is that they do not travel with you, that was the mistake.

It was a portal machine, like a door. I was working on different ways to travel through the universe, because light speed is slow to travel between planetary systems. The company who hired me and a bunch of scientist cancelled the project and i stole the tech.

I've tried to make a warp engine a long time ago but it imploded and disappeared from existance, or at least looked like that.
