Wikipedia has the story, but lots of things were different in the info that was out in 2000 when my boss got his, they added the govt experimentation infomation, and dropped a few things he was told or had to do. He bought his from a breeder in California, and has her shipped out here to Michigan. They are gorgeous too. Thanks for the reply! MoS

Ooops....that's why I was hesitant to say anything about breeders, but it sounds like they were exceptionally responsible, and what a great way to have those wonderful kitties!! You are right about that, every kittie I see on here makes me want to go get one from the humane society, but my Smokey always stops me. She does not like other animals, and I'm afraid she would change, I've heard that sometimes happens, when you bring a new animal into the house, the one there sometimes changes their behavior, not always to the good. My daughter's cat is upstairs and Smokey always runs her off when she follows my daughter downstairs. I didn't even KNOW cats could get aids? Thats awful. If I were to get any purebed, it would be the Maine Coon...absolutely, they're gorgeous. But do you believe the history of the ragdolls? The first one, how they have "no innate fear of anything, you can't let them outside or have them de-clawed(because they have no fear and would get attached or hurt without their claws) how they have the attributes of a dog, come when called to anybody, and are very calm. Maybe they've changed the history since I read up on them, about 10 years ago, but especially the first ragdoll that was hit by a car, and her kittens just "came to be" I don't know if they are still claiming all these things about them today. I never heard of "napoleon", just looked it up, and I agree. My old boss bought a "ragdoll" and I don't know if I buy it or not, all the hype on what they're suppose to be. I don't believe in purposefully breed cats with health issues, lucky for breeders I have no influence AT ALL, but I think there are more than enough cats to go around for people to adopt, without "creating cats" for lots of money....I don't want any hate e-mail about this, it's only my opinion. MoS

We like to think she is!!!! But then we thought she was a Chartruese(sp?) as she chirps and has other qualities of that breed. She's a rescue, and I think a mixed breed, she's got a little tiny head and a big strong furry body, all grey, and she's a scared of EVERYTHING, her shadow, her food, me, when I come home from work....you name it. Thank you for the compliment! She's the Smokey I'm the Mom of!! hehe
