Yeah, I'm on the opposite side of the country, south of Buffalo NY, and I'm not that enthused about baseball. Gimp is working out pretty well for me. I've got a book that is helping me out a lot. It's "Beginning Gimp from Novice to Professional" by Akkana Peck. It's written very clearly, and I'm able to use the program. I have Image Broadway (a PhotoShop type program), but I can't find any books on it, so I'm not using it. So far I've made 5 "paintings" with it and have just learned to fool with my photos in more subtle ways-lightening shadow areas, altering color balance. I love the computer as darkroom-no wasted paper, no stinky chemicals, no bruised shin from running into things in the dark.

I've been busy (not so much on here), working (we just had inventory), and learning The Gimp (digital photo manipulation tool that's free). Plus, now that it's nicer weather out, I've been out taking pictures. How have you and your kitty been?

I've been working, and doing a lot of pictures. I bought a new digital camera-a Nikon Coolpix 100. It doesn't have interchangeable lenses, but It has more chops than some-12 megapixels, and a good telephoto. It takes great pictures. I've been adding to my photostream on Flickr (as has Zonker Kitty-Falling Through the Lens on Flickr). Check us out.

I think I'm going to have to leave it at 1500 tonite; I keep getting little boxes with x's in them instead of pictures. The servers have been screwy all week, first no profiles, then the upcoming freezes and I have to shut the computer OFF to get rid of it-nothing else was frozen-games worked, other sites OK. I see others are complaining about Dr Tinycat as well. Oh well, patience s a virtue.

I've been good. I got a slide/negative converter and have been putting my negatives on my computer. I no longer have access to a darkroom, so I'm using my computer. I also uploaded a bunch of them onto Flickr. You can see them by using the Grate Caturday Snowblol fite link.

Now I have some time, I can answer my messages, and what not. I can't believe I sent out 200=messages and transposed the numbers-WTF? Nothing like being relevant. I did leave a note on the bottom of the other one, figuring that some people would just say WTF and look. They seem to be getting on the right lol. Thanx for your help.

It's also not quite long enough for an updo-not without a lot of hairspray. I cut it once a year in the late spring, so it only gets to be about a foot long by the time the next haircut comes around.

Yhat looks like a party cake for sure. I just had something to eat, so I'm ready to go again. I haven't been adding the lols to the collection lol. I'm just snipping them off my db as the come up. Feel free to add any to the collection lol. We've left a marker where we've left off, so we'll be able to tell what the new ones are- I see some have been added, but it was just too time-consuming to snip and then add them.

I woke up this morning and waffled about it for a little while, and then just waded in. I went to You Tube from an Answers question last year and watched an 8 min long video-it was a real beating. Then i saw some picture in the pic section that had been uploaded, and went to You Tube again and watched 3 or 4 more graphic videos. Ryzard found the blog site I first posted. This morning I went to the Care 2 site, searched around and found a current petition and posted that. I also found the info site that's posted on my profile. It breaks my heart, but it enrages me too.
