The rundown: Slenderman is a creepypasta meme that started on the Something Awful Forums. It has since spawned two very popular games (Slender: the Eight Pages in summer of 2012 and Slender: the Arrival last month) and numerous fanfics and pictures. He is described as a tall, thin man with no face, who has the ability to teleport, grow tentacles out of his back, and can lenghten his arms at will. Stories sugjest he stalks children, though the reason why is unknown. There is a debate if he is real or not.
