I just saw that you'd lost Becky; sorry to hear it. hope you're well, Rick

Thanks, Rick. I'm sure not used to having two up there. One is hard enough to come by.

I imagine the alternate wiring combined with society's struggle with training Ceiling Cat's special people does cause an awful lot of confoozles. I find the group appealing none the less. Two of the most significant relationships I've had with gals were members of that cadre. Thanks for the sobriety grats. The world became a much safer and happier place for everyone when I put the plug in the jug. Fortunately the struggle and obsession ended long ago but the gratitude and perspective remain.

hello! just happened to ED your reply to Fauxpaws dated: By beckysdad on Aug 1, 2015 at 9:28 PM and I have to say, I resemble that remark, partly; I eat lefty, write lefty, do everything else righty -- maybe that explains the constant confusion... Congrats on 29 years. Rick >ACK!< just re-read that exchange, and I may have located a long-lost twin....

Sammy will be 9 in June (he's the one on the fence in my most recent lol). all in all, we've been fortunate; by and large, all the critters put up with not being the only furbaby rather well

Peanut butter rocks! How long has this last cat been with you now? By all things I've heard incorporating goggies and kittehs can be a challenge. It sounds like largely you've done quite well and had some good luck with receptive animals. This last one is a work in progress but clearly a labor of love.

I see another peanut butter lover <g> we got the first 2 cats, then the dogs, then the last 2 cats -- all as kittens or puppies. by the time the first pup showed up, the first 2 cats were almost a year old and secure in their home, and at the time, were about as big as the puppy. Went about the same when dog #2 got blended in. kittie #3 doesn't take any guff from anybody, or anything, so she did fine. the last kitty, though, hid out under furniture for 3 days, and still isn't totally at ease -- startles easily, but when not scared is very affectionate and talkative. still not a lap cat, but it gives me something to work on ;-)

Not so much boys anymore. Getting them to that stage is no small feat...congrats! That's a good looking pack with dogs sandwiched in age between older and younger cats. How was it bringing them together? I'll bet there are plenty of stories there. Did the dogs come after all the cats? I'm guessing they didn't all join you as puppies or kittens. My older sister had a cockapoo years ago and he was a little cutie. I'll be dog sitting my sister's cocker this summer while she goes on an Alaskan Cruise. Her friend's Corgi will be staying here as well. I'll be curious to see if it's more like boot camp or summer camp. I know I'll be spamming the site endlessly with pictures during that time.

ohai! small, and old, pics of the beasties in my 'our furries' collection: http://app.cheezburger.com/RA_BH/collection/3508248/our-furries?showFullSizeFavs=True top to bottom, viewing full sized pics: Sophie (12), Sully (12), Sammy (7), Sabrina (8), Buster (10), Bella (9). the pups are cockapoos. and, yeah, they sure are enthusiastic creatures! The boys are 23 and 19 Rick

I smiled when I read your comment about preferring cats over dogs and specifically because of their low maintenance nature. I've always been a dog person and you would think after getting a dog as wonderful as Becky that feeling would only increase. Without actually having a cat I've come to appreciate them more since Becky moved in. It's been seven years now and in that time we've missed about nine dawn walks...rain or shine doesn't matter. We walk to start our day. On those days that I decide I want to go to Point Lobos to take photos and Becky can't come along, we walk at five am so we can get back, have breakfast and then I can drive ninety minutes and get there for the dawn light. You don't have to do things like that with a cat. Clean the box, a little extra kibble and you can leave for a couple days and be fine. I do love dogs for their enthusiasm though. They get excited over everything. What kind of dogs do you have and what are their ages? And what about the kittehs? How old are your boys?

Same here; thought we were friends already, but I guess not <rolleyes>. anywho, I enjoy your take on things, and, of course, love Becky. Be well, Rick
